Parks & Recreation in Wellington
Tiger Shark Cove
13800 Greenbriar Boulevard
This park has four softball fields, two batting cages, three pavilions, one concession stand and Leather's Playground. This park was designed by Village of Wellington residents, constructed by hundreds of volunteers and privately funded.
The inscription on the park reads:
On October 21, 1998, the children of Wellington came together to give their ideas for a magical new playground.
Through grassroots fundraising and a generous community, over $275,000 in funds and materials was donated.
In one week, February 7-13, 2000, the people of Wellington came together to have fun and gave over 10,000 volunteer hours.
We give to our children this playground... a monument of volunteerism and community pride.
